During his tenure (2004 - 2015) Jason and his team were responsible for quadrupling program participation with a reach of over 10,000 schools and 2,000,000 kids annually.  Prior to joining the USTA national office in March 2004, Jason worked for the USTA Southwest Section over a span of 10 years with responsibilities for Player Development, Community Tennis, and Recreational Coaching. He supervised and managed the USTA Regional Training Centers, developed Team Southwest, and was a Head Coach for the USTA Southwest for regional, national, and international competitions and training.  

  

Jason graduated Summa Cum Laude from Arizona State University and was an Academic All-American in tennis at Glendale Community College.  He was ranked #1 in Men’s Open Doubles in the Southwest and #19 in the Nation in Men’s 30 Singles.  Jason is a former Arizona State PTR Member of the Year as well as a USPTA Southwest Professional of the Year.   

 

In 2010, Jason received the Contributors Award from the American Alliance for Physical Activity and Recreation for educational and training contributions to the association.  In 2013, Jason was inducted into the USTA Central Arizona Hall of Fame.  In 2017, Jason received the STAR Award from the Southwest Professional Tennis Association for his work in developing and organizing recreational programs and more recently the 2019 Diversity Award for introducing tennis to diverse populations throughout the Southwest. 

 

In spring of 2022, Jason was recognized as the Youth Pickleball Provider of the Year by Racquet Sports Industry Magazine.  In the fall of 2022, Jason received the President’s Award from the Arizona Health and Physical Education Association for his efforts in helping teachers and schools with training, programs, and equipment.  

 

As President and Founder of Covering the Court, LLC, Jason continues to guide industry professionals and organizations, conduct camps and programs, and coach players of all ages and backgrounds in both tennis and pickleball as a certified PTR, PPR, and USPTA Professional.

 

Jason currently serves as a National Advisor for USA Pickleball helping steer recreational growth initiatives and develop program resources for youth, collegiate, and adult/senior populations.  He has helped develop and guide several resources for USA Pickleball including free and member-based youth program provider tools, virtual training presentations, the USAP Recreation Programs Guide and USAP Youth Pickleball Guide. 

 

For more than a decade, Jason was the National School Tennis Manager for the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and also served for several years as a Master Trainer of Recreation Coaches.  In his role with the USTA, Jamison was responsible for training and managing a faculty of over 100 elite tennis professionals and guiding over 100 local field staff that delivered programs, conducted events, and hosted training workshops.  He served as a frequent speaker at conferences and has developed coaching and program delivery resources used throughout the industry for tennis and pickleball.
